Yin yoga invites us to move away from the “Yang”, the doing, the moving, the striving required in vinyasa yoga. Yin invites us to stay, to sense, to yield.

Yin yoga deepens our connection to self, the stillness that our busy bodies and mind crave.

From a physiological perspective, yin yoga “stresses” the deeper tissues in our body, the ligaments, the tendons and our interconnected fascia that surrounds muscle, muscle fibres and our organs.

Life requires a constant juggling act between striving and accepting, pushing, control and surrender and this is the yin in our yang practice. Balance is key!

In a similar vein to my vinyasa classes, I also tie in the chakras and layer this with TCM meridians. This allows you to connect, to not only the physical nature of a pose, but also its energetic qualities too.

First Yin Yoga class is Wednesday 29th Oct. 6.30pm. Then alternate weeks till 10th Dec.

Yoga Nidra meditation with Jen takes place on the alternate weeks, beginning Oct 22nd.
